Insults and reproach have broken my heart; I am full of heaviness and I am distressingly sick. I looked for pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.
PSALM 69:20 WAS WRITTEN BY KING DAVID. KING DAVID WAS INSULTED!
HAVE YOU BEEN INSULTED BY: BEING OVERLOOKED, TAKEN FOR GRANTED, JOB LOSS, IGNORED, NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY, TALKED ABOUT, REJECTED AND MORE?!
HOW DID KING DAVID FEEL ABOUT THE INSULTS.WELL FIRST, THESE WERE "RELENTLESS" ATTACKS, COMING RIGHT AFTER ANOTHER WITHOUT A BREAK. THE INSULTS; 1) BROKE HIS HEART, 2) FILLED HIM WITH HEAVINESS, 3) MADE HIM SICK. KING DAVID NEEDED SOMEONE TO "LIFT HIM UP, TO PITY HIM" BUT ALTHOUGH HE WROTE PSALM AFTER PSALM TO COMFORT OTHERS, NO COMFORTER WAS FOUND FOR HIM.
A fool's wrath is quickly and openly known, but a prudent man ignores an insult.
THE WORD OF GOD INSTRUCTS US TO IGNORE AN INSULT.
He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or harps on a matter separates even close friends.
WE ARE TO FORGIVE AN OFFENSE. "OH I HAVE FORGIVEN, BUT." IF ONE CONTINUES TO "HARP" ON THE MATTER OR REPEAT IT OVER AND OVER AND OVER.IT HAS NOT BEEN FORGIVEN OR COVERED OVER.
But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
FOR A TIME AND IN THE THICK OF THE STRUGGLE DAVID COULD NOT FIND A COMFORTER. WE ARE WITHOUT EXCUSE. ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO COMFORT AND COVER YOU AGAINST THE PAIN OF OFFENSE.
You do not have to suffer alone, feel helpless, feel that there is no oneto plead your case or no one to defend you or no one to encourage you or no one to stand with you because you have the Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby living within you!
Keeping you in prayer,
Earl and Wanda
