The Burning Bush

Help! I am called into the Ministry.

Moses had a divine appointment and destiny. Moses was miraculously saved from destruction as an infant and then raised in the house of Pharaoh (the enemy). He did what he thought was a good thing by murdering an Egyptian who would have killed a Hebrew (one of his people). He ran away to escape the hand of Pharaoh who sought to kill him. He lived in the land of Midian for 40 years. Moses was now 80 and had no clue of "who he was".  Are you called into the ministry? How can you tell?

Exodus 3
1 NOW MOSES kept the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the back or west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb or Sinai, the mountain of God.

2 The Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire, yet was not consumed.

God was preparing to reveal the call to Moses. For this purpose, Moses, were you created.

3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.
4 And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here am I.

The Lord waited for Moses to TURN and see. When Moses responded to the burning bush, God called him by name, "Moses, Moses".

5 God said, Do not come near; put your shoes off your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground.

6 Also He said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

God revealed Himself to Moses in a way that he would understand. I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Moses was afraid. God placed His Fire (the Bush), into the heart, belly and bones of Moses. God's Burning desire, now became a part of Moses.

"I am called, I am burning with this need to...." I often hear people say that they are called into the ministry. I have yet to meet someone who God has called who has not said, NO WAY, NOT ME! Often those who are called feel inadequate, because they (we) are. If you have a call on your life, PRAY!!!! Get a clear understanding of what God is calling you to do. He is the one with the details. Next, partner and I mean really partner with someone with a Leadership, Bible Study, Mentoring, Ordination program, so that you can learn the scriptures while being protected from the attacks that are sure to come.
